A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Weber Innovation High for an Aviation Teacher. This position is for 1.36 hours per day, 9 months per year. This job is slated to start January 2025, at the start of 2nd Semester.

Weber Innovation High is seeking a dedicated and passionate Aviation Teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in aviation theory, flight operations, and related subjects to students pursuing careers in aviation. This position offers the opportunity to inspire and shape the next generation of pilots, air traffic controllers, and aviation professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lectures and hands-on training on aviation subjects, including aerodynamics, aviation safety, navigation, and weather.
- Prepare and present lessons in accordance with the institution’s aviation curriculum.
- Teach practical skills related to flight operations, aircraft systems, and aviation technologies.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback, assessments, and individualized support.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, regulations, and technologies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve instructional materials and course content.
- Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines and standards in all training programs.
- Participate in faculty meetings, training, and professional development sessions.
- Organize field trips, guest speakers, and real-world aviation experiences to enhance learning.
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and performance evaluations.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in aviation, aeronautics, or a related field is to be approved for concurrent enrollment through the university.
- A certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate is required.
- Experience in commercial or private piloting preferred.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and aviation industry standards.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring students.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
- Experience in both flight instruction and classroom teaching.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
